Laura Nungesser

October 22, 1921 — August 27, 2013

Our beautiful loving mother Laura B. Nungesser passed away on August 27, 2013 at the Logan Nursing Home at the age of 91.
She was born October 22, 1921 to Moses and Wilhelmina Wanner Bodrero in Logan Utah. She was the seventh of nine children. Growing up she helped her dad, brothers and sisters on the family farm. She attended school in Logan and graduated from Logan Senior High.
After graduation she moved to Ogden, Utah and worked as a waitress in a small café. It was there that she met Marvin Nungesser, after a few months of dating they were married in Evanston, Wyoming. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple. Three weeks after they were married, Marvin was called into the US Army to serve in World War II. While Marvin was serving our country for the next 3 ½ years, Laura worked as a telephone operator and in the arsenal department helping with the war efforts.
After the war ended Marvin resumed his job with Utah Power and Light Company. Laura and Marvin lived at several Utah Power and Light hydro plants in Idaho, where their five daughters were born and raised. After the death of her husband on June 23, 1971 Laura moved to Logan, Utah and bought a home that she dearly loved.
She is best known for her beautiful yard, flowers, and homemade cookies she loved to share with neighbors and family. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings. She was a devoted temple patron and served a LDS mission at the Deseret Industries.
She is survived by her daughters Colette (Eldon K) Crockett of Boise ID, Susan (Donald) Dunkley of Whitney ID, Victoria (Don) Rogers of Brigham City UT, Pamela (Clain) Anderson of Chapel Hill NC, and Marlene Nungesser of Ashland OR; a younger brother Ivan Bodrero of WA; 18 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, UT. Graveside services will be held the same day at 12:00 noon at the Preston, Idaho Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
