Charles Edwards Maughan, 90, passed away on Tuesday August 6th, 2013 in Layton Utah.
Born December 16th, 1922 in Delta Utah to George and Ursula Maughan. He was the 2nd oldest of 7 brothers and sisters. Upon leaving high school he joined the army and served in World War 2 from 1943 - 1945. While in the service he met the love of his life Jean Coulson in New Jersey. They were married on September 5th, 1947 in Newark, N.J.
Charles job as an electrical engineer took him too many exciting places including Saudi Arabia to work. After retirement he and “Jeanie” traveled around the world. Charles and Jean were married for 54 years until she passed away in July 2001.
Charles is survived by his two daughters, Maureen (Michael) of Texas and Cathy (Scott) of Arizona. He is survived by four grandchildren, April, Alexandra (Clint), Georgia and Jennifer and three great-grandchildren, Dillon, Britney and Brooke. He is also survived by his brother Newell (Rose) of Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and sisters and his loving wife Jean.
A viewing will be held on Thursday August 8th, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Allen-Hall Mortuary at 34 East Center Street in Logan, Utah and prior to the services on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the mortuary. Graveside services will be held on Friday August 9th, 2013 at 11 AM in the Logan City Cemetery.
