Ernest David Astle, 80, of Logan, UT, passed away on Saturday February 4, 2023 in Logan.
A lifelong resident of Cache Valley, Ernest was born to David Elmer Astle and Margarita Foerster Astle. He grew up in Providence, along with two younger brothers. After marrying Sylvia Wuthrich, they moved to Logan, where they adopted one son, David, and had two other sons, Steven and Jeffrey.
Ernest held many jobs over the course of his life, including purchasing agent, accountant, and real estate agent, but is perhaps best known as a mechanic and for his love of cars, which he shared with his son Jeff. He also enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors with his family.
Ernest is survived by his son, Dave (Amy) Astle of Portland, OR; grandchildren Reb (Kevin) Astle, Evan Astle, Lorelei Astle, Tyler Astle, and Nathan Astle; brother, John (Diane) Astle of Hyrum, UT; sister-in-law, Charlotte Astle of Providence, UT; and brother-in-law Kay Wuthrich of Broomfield, CO.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale Astle; wife, Sylvia; and sons Steven Blaine Astle and Jeffrey Lynn Astle.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 25th at 12 p.m. at the Logan City Cemetery, 1000 N. 1200 E. in Logan. A viewing will be held prior from 10-11:30 a.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. in Logan. Messages may be sent to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.com .
