Logan, Utah: Albert Marion Bouwhuis passed away on March 12, 2013. He was born on October 21, 1920, in Fairmont, Weber County, Utah, to Christian Bouwhuis and Mary Elizabeth Hart. He was the oldest of five children, John (LuJean) Bouwhuis, Sindy (Albert) Tembrink, Emma (Ellis) Summers and James (Helen) Bouwhuis.
Bert married Venna Jacobsen in August of 1948. Together they had 5 children: Sterling (Barb) Bouwhuis, Kevin (Sara) Bouwhuis, Lynette (Brett) Palmer, Myles (Lisa) Bouwhuis and Kyle (Moana) Bouwhuis. He was later divorced.
Bert married Blanche McNeil on March 12, 1979. This was the start of a wonderful chapter in his life that included his step children. This new family included Shyrleen McNeil, Alberta (Gerald) Bodrero, Carolyn McNeil and Weston (Vicky) McNeil. Together they have 31 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and 9 great, great grandchildren.
Albert was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed working and was a hard worker. During his early years he farmed on a Dairy Farm. Later in life, Bert worked for the grounds department at Utah State University for 21 years. After retiring from USU, he continued working by driving the bus for the University for another 15 years. Albert enjoyed the interaction with the students. He was one of the students’ favorite bus drivers.
Together Bert and Blanched spent many years enjoying their hobbies, dancing, fishing and travelling in his Motor home. Blanche was the love of his life.
A viewing will be held Thursday March 14 from 7:00pm – 8:30 pm at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, Utah. There will be an additional viewing on Friday morning 10:30 – 11:30 AM prior to the Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 at 12:00 PM.
