Albert Kris Huber (age 60) passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on October 17, 2024, after a five year battle with acral melanoma. He left a lasting legacy of faith, courage, and zeal for life.
Kris was born to Leon and Ann Huber in Logan, UT, on February 4, 1964, the first of nine children. They lived in Cache Valley until moving to Meridian, Idaho when Kris was 16. Kris was blessed with a keen and intuitive mind, and his childhood is filled with stories of his inventions and adventures. He developed skills and talents building go-carts, skiing, waterskiing, swimming on the swim team, and playing the piano and organ.
Kris served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Argentina (Cordoba mission) which greatly impacted him and created lifelong friendships. After returning from his mission, Kris’ educational pursuits led him to become an electrical engineer. He received his Bachelor’s degree from BYU, and received his Master’s degree and PhD in electrical engineering from USU. It was while living back in Logan, UT that Kris was reunited with his childhood friend, Lynné Bradford, and the two of them were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on August 3, 1990.
Kris and Lynné welcomed six children into their family, and although Kris experienced many successes throughout his career, and was honored for his dedicated civil service at Hill Air Force Base, his crowning achievement was his beautiful family. He felt strongly that the greatest influence he would have on this world was his impact on his children, and his love for them is evident in the way he spent his life. Kris filled their home with love and laughter, and instilled a spirit of curiosity, adventure, and courage to try new things in each of his children. Kris was a father who made life fun and exciting for his children. Each of them have vivid memories of the games and rides that he would invent; Kris was known for being a very fun father, uncle, brother, and friend. Kris was an avid skier, and personally taught all of his kids how to ski, and spent time with each of them on the mountain. He also loved mountain biking which became a favorite family activity. Kris thoroughly enjoyed volunteering for the high school mountain bike teams of Cache Valley and cheering on his children and all their teammates. Kris didn’t let cancer stop him from having fun, and joined a family mountain bike ride in a medical boot the week after having his toe amputated.
Kris had a strong testimony of the Savior and was very service-oriented, dedicating much of his time to help neighbors, friends, and family. His life was spent in pursuit of becoming more like Jesus Christ and lifting others along his way. His family is comforted with the knowledge that families are eternal, and that they will be reunited with him someday. Kris is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lynné, and their six children: Hannah (Shawn), Rachelle (Braeden), James (Claire), Brad (Wendy), Marie (James), and Matthias; and five grandchildren: Greta, Lewis, Owen, Theo, and Makai, and another on the way. He is also survived by his parents: Leon and Ann Huber; and siblings: LeAnn Simmons (Lane), Amy Mahler (George), Lauri McMullan (Mike), Brent Huber (Franki), Renee Jones (Ben), Annette Steed (David), Ryan Huber (Karen) and Heidi Bradford (Trent). He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ellen Bradford, brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The Huber Family would like to thank the medical team from the Huntsman Cancer Institute, and Rohn Larsen from Intermountain Hospice, for their tireless care and their efforts to help Kris maintain as good a quality of life as possible throughout his cancer treatment.
