He was able to enlarge the scope of the business during his management. During his early married years, he was active in the Methodist Church, serving in many leadership positions, and was primarily responsible for the establishment of the Chapelwood Methodist Church in the Spring Branch area of Houston, Texas. Having joined the Masons during his war years, he served as Grand Master of his lodge in Texas and held his Masonic membership for over 60 years .
Albert and Frances moved from Houston to Lockhart, Texas in 1969 and it was soon after this that the LDS missionaries found the family and they all joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife were sealed in the Manti Temple a year later in 1972.
He served in the branch presidency in San Marcos, Texas and on the High council in Austin, Texas. Home teaching was always a priority for Albert. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grand father, and brother.
Albert retired from ranching to move to Salt Lake City in 1982, where he and his wife served in the German extraction program and also in the Salt Lake Temple for eight years until they left for a mission to serve among the Navajos in the New Mexico Albuquerque Mission. Upon returning from their mission, they moved to Logan, Utah, where they served for another eight years in the Logan Temple.
