Alice Tolman Lamborn passed away peacefully at The Legacy House in Logan on Wednesday Nov 20th, 2024 just eight days before her 97th birthday.
Her family is very grateful to the staff at Legacy house for the wonderful loving care and help they provided her for the last 7 years.
Alice was born in Honeyville on Nov 28th, 1927 in the house where her father was born. She was lucky enough to have 4 cousins living right next door so it was like one big family.
She outlived all five of her siblings, Sterling, Valmai, Dave, Harvey and Melvin.
Alice graduated from Box Elder High School and attended USU. While working as a secretary in the math department she met her future husband Reuel who was working on his Master’s degree in chemistry.
They were married on December 7th, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Logan after a few short years farming in Rockland Idaho. They started in a small house but after having 4 kids in 5 years had to find something bigger.
They built a house in 1955 in what was then the ‘new part of town’ and lived there for over 40 years until Reuel retired. After Reuel retired they went on an LDS mission to the West Indies (St Kitts) then travelled and enjoyed life.
Alice had seven wonderfully fabulous children (just ask any one of them). Loraine (Whitney), Vern (Laura), Lee, Vance, Lyndon (Michelle), Ed (Deb) and Burt (Chris).
They treasured trips with dear friends and their fabulously wonderful children.
Alice served in numerous church callings including Primary and Relief Society presidencies both ward and stake, Young women and cub scout callings etc. She was also active in PTA and often chaired charity drives for Heart Association and Primary Children’s Hospital.
Through the years Alice made many dear friends and treasured the time spent with them some of which are even still alive.
After Reuel passed away in 2001 Alice continued to be active in book groups, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, attended the theater and serve in church callings (Relief Society President in her 80’s)
Alice had a firm testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and His resurrection.
To know Alice was to love her. We never saw her get angry and she treated everyone with kindness and respect.
Alice is survived by her 7 children, 27 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. She lost one grandson in 1998.
