Alice Crookston Jensen
Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Alice Crookston Jensen, 92, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, quietly at home.
She was born Feb. 6, 1919, in Logan, Utah, to Newell James and Ethel Magdalene Smith Crookston; she was the second of six children.
She graduated with a degree in education from the AC (Agriculture College, forerunner to Utah State University).
She married Horace Lorenzo Jensen in North Logan on June 28, 1941, by her father. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 16, 1942.
She was active in the LDS church and served in many positions including Primary president. She and Horace served an 18-month LDS mission in the California Fresno Mission. She also served in the Logan Temple for nine years as an ordinance worker. She was a very loving grandmother who always made sure you had a chocolate chip cookie. She loved flowers in her own garden and in the canyon.
She is survived by a brother, Douglas Crookston (Farris), a sister, Mae Wennergren (John), her daughter, Maureen Grover (Bruce), her son, Gary Jensen (Jane), 14 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great-grandson.
Funeral Services will be held at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the LDS Chapel located at 1650 E. 2600 North, North Logan, Utah. Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the chapel prior to the service at noon. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
