Logan, Utah, Alice Seeholzer Coleman, 89, passed away on Monday November 23, 2009 at the Sunshine Terrace Nursing Home in Logan.
She was born Oct. 17,1920, in Logan, Utah, .She was the 8th of 11 children born to Theodore Martin and Palmyra Anna Burgi Seeholzer. Alice attend Benson elementary, Logan Junior High and graduated from Logan High School in 1939.
She worked at the USAC Cafeteria during World War 2 earning .25 cents an hour. She also worked as a stenciler for Wicks Construction Company in the USU Field house, packaging war materials for much more money. It was here that she meet the love of her life Melvin.
Alice and Melvin were married on Oct.17,1945, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had one child, Lynn Coleman. Melvin passed away on May 24,1976.
Some years later in her married life Alice worked for the Logan City School District as the head baker at the middle school for 22 years, retiring in 1986.
Alice was a member of the Logan 9th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a dedicated primary teacher, teaching the 3 yr olds in Junior Sunday School and Primary for 36 consecutive years. She was honored for her service in the LDS church magazine the Ensign. Her love of children was very evident as she would always make it a point to stop smile and admire the small children where ever she was. She was also the Secretary of the Cache Stake Genealogy Center for 10 Yrs. In the Relief Society, she was historian, active in the homemaking department for many years, and was a faithful visiting teacher.
Alice was a loyal Jazz and Aggie fan. She enjoyed traveling and visited many places coast to coast with her family. Several months prior to the Christmas Holidays, She was busy making her delicious caramels, english toffee, and other candies to be enjoyed by many friends, neighbors, and family members.
Alice's life has been one filled of selfless service to family, church and neighbors. Whether serving in the church or school, she was going about doing good. A legacy of faith, hard work, and compassion will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her Son, Lynn and his Wife Linda , her 6 grandchildren, Lorrie (Jason) Law, Vernal, Larry (Laura) Coleman, Nibley, Lanette Coleman, Logan, Lee (Aura) Coleman, Preston, ID, Lisa (Isaac) Wallace, Vernal, Landon Coleman, Hyrum. she has 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings and her husband.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Primary Children's Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 28, 2009 at 12:00 Noon in the Logan 9th Ward LDS Chapel, 125 East 500 North, Logan. Friends may call at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan on Friday evening from 6 to 8pm and at the ward on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30am. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
