Alicia Blanco Rios

March 8, 1914 — April 14, 2009

Spanish Fork, Utah: Alicia Blanco Rios, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully in the eve of April 14, 2009 after a brief and valiant fight with cancer.
She was born in Cd. Lerdo, Durango, Mexico on March 8, 1914 of goodly parents—Adan & Petra Gutierrez Blanco. She was just short of finishing her mid-wife training when a dashingly handsome widower asked for her hand in marriage. They were married 18 June, 1933. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters plus his two boys. She became a widow a the young age of 36 and she never re-married. The center of Alicia’s life was raising her family properly with boundless love and devotion for all. As a result, her whole family respected and loved this distinguished and classy lady.
She was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a strong testimony and true love for Jesus Christ. Her frequent recommendations to all her family members was to grab to the Savior’s hand for guidance and help. Everyone received her blessing as we departed for our daily duties. She was the super glue of the family!
She is survived by three daughters, Consuelo (late Joaquin) Flores, Bastrop, Texas, Maria Antonieta Oporto, Spanish Fork, UT , Rosario (Roger ) Ellis, Logan, UT and stepson Salvador (late Maria) Rios of Cd. Juarez, Chih., Mexico; 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Juan Rios, parents, 8 sisters and a stepson Juan Rios.
A viewing will be held at the Walker Mortuary, Spanish Fork on Friday, April 17, 2009 from 6 pm-7:30pm. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the Sunset Ward Chapel, 99 North 920 West, Spanish Fork, Utah. A viewing prior to funeral services will be from 9:00 – 9:45 am. Interment will be at the Logan City Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.allenmortuaries.net .
