Alison Marie Christensen, 64, died June 3, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Marion and Jay Arlo Fjeldsted.
Alison was preceded in death by her father, Jay Arlo Fjeldsted. She is survived by her husband, Aris Michael Christensen; her children, Jonathan Brent Christensen and wife Heidi, David Alan Christensen and wife Sarah, Michael Paul Christensen and wife JaNae, Laurel Anne Winkler and husband Hans, Tanya Marie Quinlan and husband Christopher and 16 grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Marion Fjeldsted and siblings, Stuart Arlo Fjeldsted, Peggy Lyn McDonald and husband Curtis, Owen Jay Fjeldsted and wife Jennie, Arlyn Paul Fjeldsted and wife Dana.
Alison had a great love for education and genealogy. She received her Bachelors of Education from New Mexico State University in 2003. She became a Kindergarten/First Grade Teacher at the Holloman Primary School, Holloman AFB NM until 2007. After relocating to Virginia she was a Kindergarten/First Grade Teacher for the Newport News School District; employed at South Morrison Elementary School, Sedgefield Elementary and Greenwood Elementary from 2007-2012. She became a substitute teacher for the Suffolk School District from 2014-2017. She worked at Ashley’s Hallmark store in Suffolk from 2014-2018. Alison served as the Family History Center Assistant Director for the Bennetts Creek/Nansemond River Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bennetts Pasture Road, Suffolk.
Memorial services are planned for Friday, June 15, 2018, 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nibley 8th Ward, 2825 South 1000 West, Nibley UT. Visitation 10:00-10:45 am. Interment to follow at Logan City Cemetery, Logan, UT. Funeral arrangements by Allen-Hall Mortuary.
