He loved cars, fast boats, dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, and more recently, side by sides. He was very mechanical and could fix anything. He loved time spent at the cabin at Bear Lake, which he and Charlie Stoddart built from the ground up. He loved trips to the sand dunes to ride motorcycles, and especially loved his 1976 Yamaha TT 500, that he purchased sight unseen from Cloyd Fredricks, of Cache Yamaha.
He built a 1963 Dodge truck, using mostly spare parts and he restored a 1973 Triumph Spitfire convertible, which he owned until he died.
He and Vi are the parents of 3 sons, Ned Allen Gines, Robert B Gines, Ron J. Gines, they were the love of his life. He taught them to love and work on dirt bikes, waterski, snow ski, and all things outdoors. He and Vi took many trips in their Motorhome, and enjoyed traveling during their retirement.
His professional career started as a college student working at Bob’s Chevron on 1st South & Main. He was a member of the Utah Highway Patrol for 1 ½ years, and was also employed with the Logan City Police Department, where he worked for 13 years.
