Althea Erva Garner Maughan (Patsy) passed away December 27, 2018 surrounded by loved onesat The Heritage in Preston , Idaho. Patsy was born to Carmita Strong and Elmer George Garner on February 23, 1933 in Los Angeles, California,and also spent many years living with her loving foster family, the Millers. On October 8, 1951 she married Eugene Edwards Maughan and resided in Wellsville where they raised a family of 9 children. Karen and Devon Maughan, JoAnn and Phil Miller, Keith Maughan, Kathryn and Paul Cracroft, Reedand Sharon Maughan, Mark and Jeannie Maughan, Eric and Lisa Maughan, Lisa Maughan and Paul Maughan. She is survived by 8 children, 23 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren, brothers, Dan McClean and Joey Acosta. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, son Reed, brother Johnny Tucker and sister Linda McClean, 1 grandson and 3 great grandchildren. She loved the town of Wellsville and had many friends there. She served on the Wellsville Planning and Zoning Committee and spent several years working at Square One Printing where she made many friends. She had a beautiful smile and was a friend to everyone. She always had a strong desire to find her baby brother and sister that had been given up for adoption when Patsy was six years old. After 75 years she located her brother who told her that he and his sister had been adopted into the same family and had grown up 10 miles away from her. Sadly, her sister Linda had passed away from ovarian cancer and she did not have the opportunity of seeing her again. The family is deeply appreciative of her nurses and caregivers at The Heritage in Preston, Idaho where she lived for the last 10 months of her life. Mom loved chocolate covered marshmallows, the color purple, living plants, her books and good Mexican Food. Graveside Services will be held Monday December 31, 2018 , 11:00 a.m. at the Wellsville Cemetary.
