Alvin Schwartz Beutler passed away July 20, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 95. He was born on July 18, 1918 to Alfred and Rose Schwartz Beutler in North Logan, Utah. He married Clarissa McAlister in the Salt Lake Temple on September 25, 1946.

Alvin was raised on a farm in North Logan where he learned to work very hard. He loved the land and was happiest when working. He graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Accounting. He served four years in the Army Air Corps after which he began his career at the First Security Bank. Alvin and his family then moved to Spanish Fork, Utah where he was the Administrative Assistant to the Area Engineer at the Bureau of Reclamation Central Utah Project. In 1960, he moved his family to Roy, Utah where he worked as a Budget Analyst in the Accounting Department at Hill Air Force Base until he retired in 1983. During his career, he spent most of his Saturdays in North Logan working on the family farm. Upon retiring, he returned to Cache Valley where he continued to work on the Beutler farm for many years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings throughout his life. He and Clarissa served for over twenty years in the Logan Temple. Whether it was sharing his farm produce with someone in need, or entertaining friends and neighbors on various "toys," of his own creation, he engaged in thousands of acts of quiet, selfless service.
He is survived by his wife, Clarissa, son, Park Beutler, his daughters, Bonnie Story (Shaun) and RuthAnn Robson (John), and daughter in law, Marene (David) Beutler. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters Jane Miller (Hyrum, Utah) and Edna Fisher (Denver, Colorado).
