Lee was born in Renton, King County, Washington to Ethel Louise Oslund and David Edwin Connelly, August 27, 1931. As an adult he joined the Navy. Lee was a life-long learner, earning his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education. He continued to show his love for education by teaching children in the public schools, starting in Washington and was able to teach in several other states during his career. He finished his teaching career in Wyoming. He loved to travel the world while teaching, visiting family, and doing genealogy. He loved learning about history and wrote a book about World War II, which he shared with family and friends. He showed his love for others by sharing his testimony and possessions. Lee was dedicated to his beliefs. After becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints he wrote a book about church history, which was shared with family and loved ones as well. Lee also searched for ancestors and had their temple work done. He received much joy from family history work.
Lee married Donna McLane (divorced), Lorraine Artz (divorced), and Diane Huppi. Lee and Diane were married July 14, 1990 in Evanston, Wyoming and sealed in the Logan temple later that year. Diane has been Lee's devoted and loving caregiver the last several years of his life. He peacefully passed to heaven June 24, 2016. He is survived by his three children whom he loves dearly—Mike (Jenny), Craig, Molly (Paul); his 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; his brother Ralph (Carmella); and his wife, Diane. He was greeted in heaven by Donna, Lorraine, and his parents.
