Alwyn Sessions

Alwyn "Al" Daines Sessions, 85, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, September 3, 2011, in Santa Rosa. He was the cherished sweetheart of his wife, Fran Johnson Sessions, for 61 years.

Al is survived by his three children Nancy Ann Rohde, Alwyn Mark Sessions and Linda Kay Tramontano. His is also survived by his six grandchildren Elizabeth Kay Rohde, David William Rohde, Christopher Sessions Rohde, Michael Henry Rohde, William Charles Rohde and Jillian Karine Sessions.

Al was born on July 4, 1926, to Alwyn C. and Luella Sessions in Logan, Utah. He attended Utah State University for a year before enlisting in the Navy in 1943. Following his service in World War II, he was called on a mission to Sweden for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1948.

Two days after graduating from Utah State in 1950, Al and Fran were married. They eventually settled with their family in Arcata, Cal. where he was a professor of Psychology for more than 30 years at Humbolt State University. Al retired in 1999 and moved to Windsor, California, where he was a member of the Healdsburg Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Logan City Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to services on Tuesday at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center in Logan, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
