Amanda Ann Mayo

April 21, 1992 — November 19, 2011

Amanda Ann Mayo, age 19 of Wellsville, Utah passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 19, 2011 in Logan, Utah. Amanda arrived to this life on April 21, 1992 in Orem, Utah welcomed by her parents, Rick and Jully as well as her older brother (and best friend), R.J.

Amanda’s beautiful blue eyes, and cute dimple reflected her inner beauty which was unmistakable. As Amanda grew, so did the size of her heart. Compassion and a deep love of those around her was her greatest trademark. Amanda had a gift for recognizing when others were troubled and in need of a listening ear or a helping hand and then….. She went to work at being the best friend, sister, daughter, co-worker, and neighbor she could be. Amanda’s life can be summed up in one word "Charity" which is the pure love of Christ.

Amanda attended Utah State University and was studying Social Work and Nursing while working full time at BeeHive Homes Assisted Living in Logan.

Evidence of Amanda’s good works and influence upon others is all around us. Amanda was a champion of the underdog and forged lifelong friendships. Amanda was so good at expressing deep and profound love to the elderly and put the needs of others before her own in every opportunity she could find. Amanda’s laugh, infectious smile, and silliness were her trademark. Everyone who knows and loved Amanda were uplifted by her.

During Amanda’s early years she lived in Cedar Hills, American Fork, and Heber City. In 2001 the Mayo Family moved to Logan where she lived for 5 years. In 2006, the Mayo Family moved to Wellsville. Amanda graduated from Mountain Crest High School and Seminary in 2010. Amanda loved music and it was such a big part of her life. Amanda played the clarinet, drums, and guitar. Amanda loved Moab, ATV Rides and Skiing at Beaver Mountain with her family. Most of all, Amanda loved to laugh at and with her family and friends.

Amanda loved her family more than words can describe. She was the most amazing big sister and made Annica, Kaylie, and Bri each feel as if they were her favorite. The words, "Seatbelt", "Bogie", "3 & 4", and "Catapult" will forever last as our sweet memories. R.J. and Amanda will forever be best friends.

Amanda’s family is so grateful for so many of her friends sharing endless stories of her influence for good in their lives. Angels are among us here on earth and Amanda was our BEAUTIFUL ANGEL!

Amanda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her dear friends in the Logan 19th Singles Ward. Amanda also was blessed with wonderful leaders and friends in the Wellsville 9th and Logan 43rd Wards. You all know who you are!

Amanda is survived by her parents, Rick and Jully Mayo, Big Brother, R.J. of Logan , and Loving Little Sisters, Annica, Kaylie, and Bri of Wellsville. Amanda is also survived by her Grammy, Kathy Fredrickson of American Fork, Grandparents Garry and Shirley Mayo of Pleasant Grove. Amanda was welcomed back home by her brother, Jonathan Breck Mayo who died as an infant and her Grandpa Phil Fredrickson.
