Ami Moser, a resident of Providence, UT born May 13th 1929, returned home to her Father in Heaven on February 9, 2018.
She grew up in Preston, ID on a farm, where she learned how to do many chores on the farm. She also loved to tell about her big horse named Prince that she would ride almost every day. She loved to get on him and run him fast. Those that know her, know that everything she did was fast! She also became a swim teacher at Downata Hot Springs and would tell us of those fun summers as a swim teacher.
After graduating from high school, Ami went to Utah State University and became part of the sorority Kappa Delta that she was a part of for all 4 years until she graduated. While Ami was in college she learned and excelled in many sports, softball, tennis, ping pong, and loved skiing. Also during these years at Utah State she met Grant Moser, and on May 9th 1951 they would marry for time and all of eternity. Together the two of them build a life raising their sons and being very active in anything sports related. Grant became a basketball coach in Vernal, Utah where they had their first son, Kyle. After being there for a couple years they moved to Brigham City where Grant would become the new basketball coach for Box Elder while also coaching football and golf. There they had their second son, Cameron. Brigham is where they would life for the next 15 years.
During those years many things happened for Ami. She became a great golfer winning many matches and tournaments. She loved golf so much that she started teaching her boys the great game of golf. She loved it so much that her and her sons and some of their neighbors in Brigham made a suburban golf course for the kids, where they would start at hone house and then hit across the street to the other house and so on. The suburban golf course became a hit and the Salt Lake Tribune heard of it and came over to Ami and Grant’s house and wrote a whole article and took pictures on what she had made for these kids so they could learn the game of golf.
After living in Brigham Grant and Ami decided to build their own home on the foothills of Providence. Ami had many accomplishments. She and Grant became members of Logan Golf and Country Club, and here Ami made many lifelong friends with the members here. Ami won a total of 20 golf championships. She won 10 woman’s golf championships and 1 senior women’s championships. She also won the Utah State women’s amateur in 1967. Ami’s love for golf passed on down to her sons, her grandkids and ever great-grandkids. She was the one that taught us all how to golf and love the sport. She also taught us all to love life and live it to its fullest extent, and gave us many great life lessons. She will truly be thought about everyday. I know we all cherish those wonderful times that we all had with the most wonderful person we have ever known and been blessed to have her.
Ami is preceded in death by her parents, Hezy and Adelia Beckstead, her son Kyle Moser (who we all know she is so excited to be reunited with him again). She is survived by her husband, Grant Moser, her son Cameron Moser (Joycelyn), a daughter in-law Joanna, and her grandkids Mindee Moser Zollinger (Tony), Kit Moser, Dane Moser, Jess Moser, Lance Moser (Allie), Monica, and her great-grandkids Makenzie and Austin Zollinger, Deja Moser, Justice and Stella.
