Amelia Jackson Buttars passed away peacefully Monday February 18, surrounded by her family at Logan Regional Hospital. She was 87.
Amelia was born in Logan, March 25, 1925 to Elmer L. and Sarah Scott Jackson. She was the 6th of 8 children. She spent her childhood in College Ward.
She married Garrett BerDean Buttars on June 24, 1950. They were sealed in the Logan LDS temple on February 12, 1952. BerDean passed away April 4, 1981.
She loved to do handwork, embroidery and made many quilts. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and always had a full cookie jar. She had a great memory and remembered the greatest of detail. She loved to share stories with family and friends. She was a member of the Logan 7th Ward, where she held many positions and looked forward to attending Sunday services each week.
Amelia took great care of her entire family and enjoyed every second spent with them. There was hardly a time when her house was not filled with family and children. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Nancy) Buttars, Karen Buttars, JoAnn (Jack) Andersen, Kathleen Olsen, Bart (Cheri) Buttars, 15 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren and Brother Scott Jackson.
Preceding her in death is her husband, parents, brothers David, Glen, Harold and Carvel. Sisters Ileen and RheaBell and grandson Marcus Coates.

Funeral services will be held on Friday February 22, 2013 at 1:00pm in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel 34 East Center. Friends may call at the mortuary
on Friday from 11:00 am till 12:30pm. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family
