PROVIDENCE - Amy Bingham Kresie lived a full life to the age of 93, passing surrounded by loving family on June 27, 2012. Born on March 17, 1919, to Willard Smith and May Bright Bingham in Smithfield, Amy loved Cache Valley and the surrounding mountains.
Amy worked at the Blue Bird Restaurant for 32 years before her retirement. After retirement she became an avid gardener keeping beautiful Irises around her yard. Amy loved putting together puzzles and playing board games with her grandchildren. She often passed the time completing word-find puzzles and reading the newspaper.
Amy was a dedicated wife and mother. She married her sweetheart, Vernon Kresie, on October 7, 1935, and stayed faithful to him even after his passing in 1967. She ensured that the house work and even the farm work got done each day. Very often she worked side-by-side with her husband and two sons milking the cows and pulling the garden vegetables. She loved to cook and made a mean cherry pie.
Amy is survived by her son Jay Kresie (Vickie) of Providence, UT; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Mildred Jensen of Roy, UT and Barbara VanBerck of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and son Merlin and his wife Barbara.
The family would like to thank the Jolley Family and Mrs. Allred for the loving support they gave to Amy throughout the many years. We would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Nash who provided great care over the years.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM at the Providence City Cemetery on Saturday, June 30th. A viewing will be held prior to services from 9:30-10:30 AM at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at
