Andrew Lee Bigleman May 15, 2003 - May 8, 2018
Our beautiful son, our amazing baby boy, passed away tragically and unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 8, losing his battle with the monster known as depression.
Andrew came into this world on May 15, 2003 in Logan, Utah and immediately brightened the lives of all those around him. His boundless intelligence and creativity were apparent from the beginning. He was reading and writing by the age of 3 and had an insatiable appetite for learning, especially when it came to science and technology. His 5th grade teacher told us of a time when he had finished a test before the rest of the class, and decided to sketch the periodic table of elements from memory to kill time until the other students were done. Andrew was the programmer with the Vex Robotics team and in his 8th grade year, they qualified for and traveled to the World Championship in Louisville, KY.
Andrew’s real talents and passions were in music. He was an accomplished musician and composer, and he was outstanding on his euphonium and trombone. He was selected for All-State musician honors as a freshman. Andrew was a member of the Mountain Crest High School marching band, and it was the highlight of his life. He loved playing and competing and most of all loved his fellow bandmates.
In Andrew’s memory, please reach out to those suffering the pain of depression. It’s as real and deadly of a disease as cancer, diabetes and heart failure. Do absolutely everything you can to help them. End the stigma.
Andrew is survived by his father, Ryan, mother, Kathy, and his little sister Madelyn. He is also survived by his grandparents David and Jean Hunter, his great-grandmother Annabelle Sprague Bigleman, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Richard Bigleman and his loving Nana, Lea Allred.
We will gather to celebrate Andrew’s life on Saturday, May 12 at the Hyrum Stake Center, 590 S 200 E., Hyrum, UT. A viewing will be held beginning at 10 A.M., with services to follow at 12 noon. Andrew will be laid to rest at the Hyrum city cemetery.
