Arlene Larsen, 92, passed away Saturday morning, November 12, 2005.
She was born February 17, 1913, the oldest child of Edgar and Delorma Nielsen.
She grew up in Hyrum and graduated from South Cache High School where she was selected the most popular girl by her classmates.
Arlene married Lloyd O. Larsen on August 5, 1931; later, their marriage was solemnized in the Logan L.D.S Temple. Following Lloyd's retirement from U.S.U, they served in the Indianapolis, Indiana Mission and officiated in the Logan Temple.. When Lloyd passed away December 9, 1988, Arlene moved to Logan where she continued her service in the temple.
Arlene loved life, her family, friends, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. She had a firm
testimony and was an example of faithfulness and commitment. She held many
positions in the ward and stake Relief Society and loved to play the piano for others.
As a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, she served in her local camp.
She is survived by four children: Dixie Ann (Alma) Warren, of St. George, L. Burke (Roselyn) Larsen of Syracuse, Tama (Lynn) Mathews of Hyrum, Penny (Kent) Larsen of Wellsville. (A fifth child, Jolene, died as an infant.), 17 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild. Brothers: Lee(Athalee), Don (Flora), Paul (Joyce), Jerry (Carol), Sisters: Jean (Doyle) Read, Venice (Charles) Barr, Preceeded in death by Aller Jay, Grant (Ramona), Clark (Violet), Maxine (Eugene) Larson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, November 17, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St., Logan. A viewing will be held prior to services from 10:00-11:30 at the mortuary.
