Annie Pauline Hutchison Ransom died August 27, 2009 of causes inclement to age. She was born November 2, 1928 to Charlotte and David Hutchison of Malta, Idaho. Due to health issues her two beloved aunts in Providence, Utah raised her. She participated in girl’s softball, basketball and with a ballroom dance group. She also enjoyed being part of the Christmas Morning Pageant that was a tradition in Providence during that time and which later moved to the old Capital Theater in Logan.
Pauline was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and fulfilled many callings including service a mission in the area known then as the “South Central States” mission. After returning from her mission she took a position in the cash office of a prominent department store in downtown Logan where she met her eternal mate, Kyle S. Ransom. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 25, 1953, and settled in Hyde Park, Utah where they raised their 3 children, Jed (Karalee) Ransom, JD (Liz) Ransom, and Paula (Curtis) Mason. Pauline and Kyle have given their children many wonderful memories of family times including camping and sightseeing.
Pauline is survived by her husband, Kyle, of 56 years and 2 days; her three children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Charell (Paul) Harris and Elsie (Fred) Grant. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jean Hendrickson, and Donna Anderson; and three brothers, Robert, Winston, and David Hutchison.
According to Pauline’s last wishes there will be no formal viewing or funeral held. Mom always wanted a good old-fashioned Southern wake. In lieu of a funeral, there will be a short graveside service on Monday, August 31, 2009 at the Hyde Park, Utah cemetery at 2 pm. Following that service all friends and family are invited to attend a party in her honor at Lee’s Park pavilion across from the family home to reminisce and celebrate Pauline’s life.
