April Ann Mortensen passed from this world on March 10, 2018. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. April was born to Dean and Zella Mortensen on April 26, 1965 in Logan Utah. She was a dark haired, dark eyed force of nature. Throughout April’s life, she shared her kind
heart, determination, and acceptance of all,always going out of her way to help a friend. April was proud of her daughter Ashley and loved her with all her heart. For the last fourteen years, Cory has been April’s companion and love. April will be remembered by the many nieces and
nephews whom she loved and connected with through her Game Show productions, treasure hunts, and fun-loving spirit. She was proud of her Danish Viking heritage and loved all things mystical and mythical. She enjoyed painting, on the family crew and artistically. Her love of
reading would keep her up through the night with a good book. Under the pen name Rowan D. Darkfall, she created fantasy worlds that came alive through her stories. April earned her degree in political science and true to form, was a reckoning force for causes she believed in; Save Garff Gardens and as a Mayoral and city council candidate.
April is survived by daughter Ashley Mortensen, her partner, Cory Nelson, her mother Zella Mortensen, siblings, Teena (Bruce) Cook, Jim (Sa) Mortensen, and Tressa (Kent) Haderlie, nieces and nephews and her cherished feline family members. She is preceded in death by her
father, George Dean Mortensen. Arrangements are care of Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street.
