Arlington David Haws, beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away April 6, 2011 in Ogden, Utah. He was born March 12, 1933 in Newton, Utah, to Hugh and Leona Haws. He was raised with his two older sisters on a farm in Newton. He spent a lot of time with his dad hunting and fishing.
He graduated from North Cache High in 1950 and attended Utah State University where he earned his bachelor degree in Business Administration in 1954. At the time of his graduation he received his commission in the Air Force. The Air Force took him and his family many places but they eventually settled down in Ogden, Utah where he worked and retired from Thiokol ATK. He loved to share his military stories with his family especially when the stories included his long time friend, Lowell Thorstensen. He retired from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel.
He enjoyed being outdoors; working in the garden, hunting, golfing and sports. He was a very caring person who loved to spend time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Randall Loran Haws and sisters, Barbara Brown and Gloria Haws. He is survived by his son, Richard A. Haws (Krista); daughters, Lorrie H. Spruance (Jeffrey) and Lynnette H. Stringham (Fred); 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. We are grateful for the care of Hospice provided him and our family.
“We love you and will miss you very much.”
