Auleene Johnson Maurer, 91, has passed away. She died in her home in Mesa, Az the night of Dec. 1 2016 due to heart complications.
Auleene, daughter of Perry Paul and Clistie Mae Johnson, was born in York, Nebraska. She moved to Logan Utah when she was about five. She later met and married Fred Wesley Maurer on Dec. 2, 1942. After being married for 10 years, they moved to Sandpoint, Idaho to raise their family and have a “farm”.
She is survived by her loving children Marilyn Coon, Cindy Eggleston, Earl Maurer, and Stan Maurer all living in Idaho. She also leaves behind 32 grandchildren, 100 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is welcomed home by her husband Fred, sisters: Opal, Mary, and Mae, and her son Steve Maurer.
Auleene lived with her husband in the Sandpoint area for 40 years as she raised her children and spent countless hours volunteering for many organizations. She loved her volunteer work as well as reading and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 28, 2016 at 11:00am in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel. Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday morning one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
