Barbara Smith Jas, 68, passed away on August 15, 2013. She was born in Logan, Utah on June 25, 1945 to Elwood and Ida Smith.
Barbara lived in Logan most of her life. She spent 8 years in Trapper Creek, Alaska, on the Jas Homesteade, where she met her husband, Richard Jas, before returning to Logan.
Barbara loved to travel. She and her husband were lucky enough to attend a special world cruise. She also enjoyed gardening and caring for her cherished roses that were passed onto her by her mother. If there were any events that involved family she would make sure to attend. Family was the most important thing to her.
She is survived by two sisters Shirely Pilkington and Peggy Hoffman and also by her children Tony Spackman, Stephanie Spackman. She is also survived by 6 step-children, Richard Jas II, Kim Cortez, Randall Jas, Melissa Washer, and Heath Jas. She was preceded in death by her parents Elwood and Ida Smith, a sister LaDawn Roberts, and a son Yancey Elwood Spackman.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Logan City Cemetery.
