Barbara Rose Lindquist Moore, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 15, 2024, in Lehi, Utah. Barbara was born July 27, 1940 in Logan, Utah, the second of four children of Raymond Daniel and Eleanor Redford Cooper Rose. She was raised in Logan and considered it her home all of her life. She had many fond memories of her childhood and loved to share stories of times growing up in Cache Valley, right down the street from Merlin Olsen Park.
She had a love for dancing, especially ballet, and loved sharing that she once danced in a performance of the Nutcracker. Barbara went to Logan High School where she met her sweetheart George William (Bill) Lindquist. They were married following high school and Bill began a career in sales. His work took them to Montana, Utah, and finally Texas where they raised their family. After her marriage to Bill ended, Barbara began working for Aetna Life & Casualty in Houston in order to provide for her three children. She made many dear friends during this time. She was very frugal and budgeted down to the penny. She loved providing for her children and taught them the meaning of hard work and getting the most out of every item ever purchased. When her children had finished high school, she returned to Utah and continued to work for Aetna in Salt Lake City. She always had a desire to finish her college degree and while her daughters were attending BYU, she moved back to Logan and enrolled at Utah State University. Not only did she complete her degree, she graduated Valedictorian with a degree in English and History.
She had a love for education and teaching. She began a teaching career at Mount Logan Middle School where her brother was also a teacher. For many years the two of them had the same lunch period and would meet their mother for lunch at McDonald’s just around the corner from the school. This became a much-loved tradition not only for them, but for Barbara’s children and grandchildren as they would visit her in Logan over the years. During these years she began dating and fell in love with William (Bill) Mayo Moore. They married on April 8, 1999. They enjoyed many wonderful years together until his passing in April, 2015. Barbara was devoted to living the teachings of Jesus Christ. She taught her children about faith in God and living true to His teachings. As a steadfast member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in any capacity she was called to. She never let a moment pass her to testify of God’s tender mercies and share His goodness. She stood courageously for truth and righteousness, while also exhibiting kindness and compassion. Even during her health struggles this past year, she always took time to give thanks to those who cared for her.
She let them know of her love and appreciation for their care. We want to give thanks to the nurses and care team from Aspen Ridge Residences in Lehi, Utah, for their great devotion and care over the past nine months, as well as Aspen Ridge Hospice and Home Health for their care over the past four months.
She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond Daniel Rose and Eleanor Rose Reynolds Mathews, and great-granddaughter, Nelda Rose Pyper.
She is survived by her three children—Todd William (Melody) Lindquist of Redmond, OR; Debara (Russell) Ragsdale of Sandy, UT; and Nancee (Daniel Romney) Pyper of Eagle Mountain, UT; eleven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters Carol (Ben) Stromberg of St. George, UT and Kathy Rose of Logan, UT and brother, David Rose of Logan, UT.
