Barbara Ione Larsen Woodward, 92, passed away peacefully March 29, 2016 at Legacy House in Logan, Utah. She was born January 26, 1924 in Mendon, Utah to Wilford and Ione B. Larsen.
She attended Cache County schools, graduating from South Cache High School and Seminary at Hyrum, Utah. While attending South Cache, she played B flat clarinet in the concert band, marching band and pep band.
She met John Fred Woodward, from Wellsville, at a church dance in Mendon. They were married December 23, 1942 in the Logan Temple. They loved their three children Charles, Fred G. and Linda Gail.
Barbara was employed and retired from the Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Logan. She also worked for the Junction City Telephone Company in Kansas while her husband was stationed there during World War II.
She loved to sew and crochet and enjoyed making clothing, quilts and afghans for her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served in callings in Sunday School, Primary, M.I.A., and Relief Society in both ward and stake positions. She and Fred served missions for the church in Atlanta, Georgia and at Temple Square in Salt Lake City. They also served as officiators in the Logan Temple for many years.
Barbara is survived by her children, Charles(Nancy), Clinton, Utah; Fred G, Wellsville, Utah; Linda Gail, Declo, Idaho. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor (Lewis) Bass of Salt Lake City; and one brother, Leland W. Larsen of Mendon, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Fred Woodward; her daughter-in-law, Brenda Parkinson Woodward; her sister-in-law, Lavay Leishman Larsen; her sister, Dortha Elizabeth Larsen; and her brother, James Dallas Larsen.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 4, 2016 at 11 AM at the Wellsville Fourth Ward Church Building, 49 West 200 South, Wellsville, Utah. Viewings will be held at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., Logan, on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 6-8 PM and on Monday at the 4th Ward Church Building at 9:30 AM.
