Beatrice Clawson Larsen of Logan, Utah 101 years old passed away peacefully at the Williamsburg Retirement Community September 2, 2013. Beatrice was born on December 4, 1911 in Hyrum, Utah, the daughter of August J and Violet Olsen Clawson. She was educated in the Hyrum Schools and Utah State University and graduated from the Quish School of Beauty Cultured in Salt Lake City.
She married J. LeMar Larsen June 12, 1934 in the Logan LDS Temple. Bea as all of her loving friends called her held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served as a Sunday school teacher, Primary and MIA teacher, Relief Society class leader, counselor and twice as a Relief Society President and in the Cache Stake Primary leadership. She was also a temple worker for 25 years serving both in the Logan temple and the Ogden temple. She served in the Logan temple after its renovation as a supervisor for five years. She loved dearly those she served with including her devoted husband LeMar who served as the First Counselor in the Logan temple just after its renovation.
She had a great love of music, playing the organ by ear, singing in the ward choir and in musical groups for 35 years. Bea loved music all of her life and shared this talent with many of those around her. As a result of her love of music she loved to write poetry concerning her family and others around her.
Bea was a happy, caring person who did hours of service for others. Even in her last years she loved being with the people at Williamsburg and made many wonderful friends there. She was always know there for her bright outlook on life and the little dance that she did showing how happy she was.
Her parents, her husband and only sister proceeded her in death. She is survived by her two children, Dixie Lee O’Brien of Logan and Kurt LeMar Larsen of Salt Lake City, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The family expresses their love for those who cared for her at the Williamsburg Retirement Community and her wonderful RN Cathy Hall and her assistances for their many years of service in helping Bea to be comfortable and healthy. Our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother truly endured to the end and is now with her loved ones that passed before her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday September 7, at the Allen Hall Mortuary Chapel with a viewing from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the Funeral Services.
