Bert "Buzz" Brown

November 2, 1930 — May 21, 2007

Bert L. "Buzz" Brown returned to his heavenly home May 21,2007, in Salt Lake City, Utah, due to heart failure. He was born November 2, 1930, to Bert J. and Melva Larsen Brown in Hyrum, Utah.
He was a graduate of South Cache High School and attended Utah State University. He married Patricia Nielsen in the Logan LDS Temple on July 21, 1952. He served in the Army at Ford Ord, California. Together, they are the proud parents of four children and grandparents of fourteen grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Buzz always believed in having fun. He enjoyed his work with his dad and brothers at "The Ranch", and hauled sheep for a number of years in the family trucking business. Buzz also worked at E.A. Miller & Son for several years.
Buzz was a natural athlete, excelling in football and basketball during his high school years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and golfing, and spending many weeks with his family vacationing. Dad showed us the country from the family station wagon and instilled in us the importance of family and being together. He always said he was "rich" because he had such a wonderful family. Later, he and Mom made several trips to Tacoma, Washington and Las Vegas, Nevada to visit their children and grandchildren.
Buzz was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a High Priest in the Hillcrest 1st Ward. Buzz is survived by his childhood sweetheart, Pat; their children, Teresa (Al) Lewis-Logan, Utah; Bob (Peggy) Brown-University Place, Washington; Ben (Nancy) Brown - Henderson, Nevada; and Stacey (Rod) Trost-Henderson, Nevada. Also surviving are his fourteen precious grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Beverly Jorgensen-Hyrum, Utah; Cordell Brown-Draper, Utah; and "Dolly" Martinsen-Lake Oswego, Oregon. Buzz was preceded in death by his parents, Bert J. and Melva Larsen Brown and his older brother, Courtney Bert Brown.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25th, at 12:00 noon at the Hillcrest 1st Ward, 875 N. 1500 E., Logan, Utah. Bishop Larry Shirk will be conducting. Friends may call Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St in Logan on Thursday, May 24th from 6-8 pm and at the church from 10:30 11 :45 am before the service. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net .
