LOGAN, UTAH - Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Bertha Hazel Cazier Forsberg Wilson, returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on August 6,2009 at the age of94. Bertha was born May 22, 1915 in Brigham City, Utah, the youngest child of Frederick and Mary Cazier. Bertha had seven brothers and sisters, six of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her dear sister, Viola Chingas Brien of Orem, Utah.
She married her eternal sweetheart, Herman Forsberg on October 17, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later sealed in the Logan L.D.S. Temple on December 18, 1946. They were the parents of three children, Janice, Rae Lene and Dewey. Herman passed away on September 15, 1961. After several years she married Frank Wilson of Tooele, Utah and he also preceded her in death.
Bertha lived a life filled with happy memories of family, her husband, children, grand-children and great grand-children. She was always a very hard worker as she cared for her family and her home. When her children were all in school she trained to become a nursing aide, which fulfilled her lifelong mission of providing tender, loving care to those in need. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many callings in the church. She worked at both Logan and Salt Lake City L.D.S. Hospitals where she made many lasting friendships. Her most rewarding work was in Dr. John W. Carlisle's pediatric practice in Logan, assisting him as his office nurse. Bertha also had many other talents, including temple work; beautiful embroidery handwork; and writing touching poetry for the special loved ones in her life.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled her life with a spirit that kept her young at heart, finding great joy in their laughter and smiles. To them she was their "Grandma Darling" as she was lovingly called by each one of them. We will all miss you Mom, but your caring spirit will live in our hearts forever.
Preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and sisters, and her husband, Herman, she is survived by their three children Janice Jenkins, Rae Lene Bodhaine, and Dewey Forsberg, all of Logan, Utah; 13 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families, and by many dear friends.
The family would like to thank all those special people who helped care for their Mom during the last years of her life; Dr. Steven Salisbury and his assistant Louise Tobey, and the caring staff at both Williamsburg Retirement Home and Sunshine Terrace. The family extends a special appreciation to Brother Robison for his delivery of the sacrament to her each Sunday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 14 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.
