Beth Marie Orton

Beth Marie Anderson Orton passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Autumn Residential Care Center in Hyde Park Utah. Beth Marie was born on January 26, 1933, in Richfield Utah to Wendell Niels Anderson and Betha Vilate Anderson Anderson.

She graduated from Richfield High School in 1951. Following her graduation from Brigham Young University with her Bachelor's Degree in Science, her first teaching job took her to Parowan Utah. Beth Marie also met her husband, C. Chad Orton, in Parowan after she sat in the aisle behind him in church. They were married in the St. George Utah LDS Temple on November 30, 1956.

Beth Marie taught 5th Grade in Duchesne, Utah and home economics at Uintah High in Vernal, Utah. After her children were older, Beth Marie's passion for reading led her to become the Media Center Specialist at Maeser Elementary where she shared her love of books with children. Beth Marie also volunteered in the Hyrum City Library. Beth Marie and Chad would give out books for special occasions to their children and grandchildren so they could make their own library in their home.

In 2005, after living in Vernal Utah for 40 years, Beth Marie and Chad moved to Nibley Utah.

Beth Marie was a very talented seamstress and sewed many clothes for the family. She made many baby quilts for family members and friends new little ones. Beth Marie enjoyed taking pictures with her Kodak or 35 mm camera and she was a creative scrapbooker. She enjoyed cooking and shared her knowledge with her daughters and granddaughters. She collected and shared good recipes. Beth Marie enjoyed following the activities of her children and grandchildren.

Beth Marie is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and she served in various callings with Primary being her favorite. Beth Marie was able to serve in the Vernal Utah LDS Temple with Chad. Beth Marie has a strong testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and a great love of the restored gospel.
Beth Marie is beloved by her children Suzanne Marie, Gary Niels, Karyn (Billy Robbins), Steven A. (Becky) She has 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Beth Marie is survived by her husband Chad, her children and grandchildren as well as her two sisters Marva Denise Anderson, Ruth Lorraine Avery, her brother Robert Wendell Anderson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law David and Mary Etta Orton and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, in-law parents, her sister Lois Yvonne Anderson Clark and brother Russell Wayne Anderson and her grandson Benjamin McKay Orton.

Funeral Service for Beth Marie will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 11am in the Nibley West Stake Center, 1584 West 3200 South, Nibley Utah, with a viewing prior from 9:30 - 10:30 am. Burial will be in the Millville City Cemetery immediately following the service. There will also be a viewing on Sunday, April 9, 2023, from 6 - 8 pm, at Allen-Hall Mortuary.
