Beth Jessop Williams Archibald
Bountiful, Utah: Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2009 in Bountiful, Utah.
Beth was born on October 10, 1926 in Tremonton, Utah. She was the first of three daughters born to Roy and Jane Hughes Jessop. Beth grew up in Nibley and Millville.
Beth married C. Leslie “Les” Williams on September 3, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they became the parents of seven children. They were later divorced Beth married Virgil Archibald on August 14, 1973 in the Ogden LDS Temple. Virgil died on May 1, 1988.
Beth graduated from South Cache High School in 1944. She caught the railroad every day to school. Beth was a good runner. She won the south end of the valley, in track, including boys. Beth worked for Mountain Bell after high school. Later, she worked for Lincoln Elementary as a cook and was president of Cache County Food Service. She retired from there after 18 years. She also worked at Paradise Café, Old Rock Church and The Bluebird as a cook.
Beth enjoyed reading, watching the Jazz and spending time with her children, 31 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren. Beth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served in many positions over the years with mutual and Primary being her favorites.
She is survived by her children, Leslie (Earl) Leavitt of Boulder City, Nevada; Craig (Lesa) Williams of Hyrum, Utah; Julee (Lyle) Lofthouse of Avon, Utah; Claudia (Gary) Lindeburg of Bountiful, Utah; Claud (Renae) Williams of Hyrum, Utah; Lori (Scott) Hendry of Wellsville, Utah; Todd (Sydney) Williams of Layton, Utah.
Beth was preceded in death by her husband Virgil, two sisters: Bonnie Barker and Ramona Curry and a granddaughter, Tenille Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 3, 2009 in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the mortuary and prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment will be in the Wellsville City Cemetery.
