Beth Whitney Ferguson

Beth was born March 13, 1919, in Brigham City, Utah. Her parents were Wells Alonso Whitney and Estella Olive Wheeler. Her grandparents were Sam and Edna Whitney of Weston, Idaho, and the Wheelers from Ogden. She is the great-great-granddaughter of Sam "Peg Leg" Whitney. Beth's siblings are Olive Ada Card (deceased), Floyd J. Whitney (deceased) and Donna Mae Whitney (Adams). Donna still resides in California.
Beth and her family moved frequently as a child. Her mother passed away when she was 14. She then moved to California with two of her aunts.
Beth married Robert Howard Preston in 1937. They had two daughters, Shirley Evonne Preston (McClendon) in 1938 and Betty Jean Preston (Speth) in 1939.
Beth's grandchildren are: Shirley - Marty, Melody, Michael and Michelle McClendon; and Jean - Randy, Julie, Brent, Jennifer, Yvonne, Yvette, and Chris Hallmark. Beth has 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Beth lived in California for 60 years and then moved back to Utah in 1994.
She enjoyed floral arranging and reading - especially the Holy Bible.
Beth was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a beatiful Christian. We all consider her an angel of God.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm in the Providence Cemetery. There will be a viewing prior to services at the Allen-Hall Mortuary from 12:30 - 1:30 pm.
