Betsy Jean Trevethan

Betsy Jean Trevethan, 64, passed away in her home in Hyrum, Utah of cancer on August 26, 2005.



Born August 17, 1941 in San Francisco, California and adopted to Wallace William and Alice Victoria Wahlgren on June 2, 1943. Married to beloved husband Edward W. Trevethan on January 25, 1985 at Little Lake Tahoe Wedding Chapel, Tahoe, California. He died May 15, 2000. In 1995 she retired after 33 years of honorable civil service to the United States government at Alameda Naval Air Station. She moved to Hyrum Utah to be with her daughter and family in May of 2001. She is servived by her daughter Lisa Abeyta, son-in-law Rick Abeyta and grandchildren Jeremy, Britney and Michaela Abeyta; numerous other children and young adults who lovingly refer to her as Grandma; sister from adoption,Carolyn and husband Terry Moreland and their children: nephew Eric Moreland and niece Kristen Stone; Her birth family she discovered on January 3, of 2001 made up of 9 other siblings 2 brothers and 7 sisters.



She is preceeded in death by her beloved husband, both adopted mother and father and her birth mother (Marileen "Lynn" Rather).



She has been an avid follower of Jesus Christ since 1986 and was baptized into God's church on June 25, 1989. She was a member of the Emmanual Baptist Church in Hyrum and was the organ and piano player for her church. She was an accomplished pianist and had been playing since age seven. She absolutely loved playing her piano. Betsy could light up a room upon entering it just by her warm, beautiful, glowing smile that seemed to reach out and touch your heart. Betsy loved her family with a strength beyond compare. She deeply cared for each of them. Her compassion and understanding would demonstrate her deep love for the Lord. She gave to others without reservation of her own comfort. She was a warm, sensitive, loving, compassionate woman who believed without reservation the love of Christ is ever lasting to everlasting.



A memorial service will be held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church 310 North 800 East, Hyrum, UT 84319 on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. A reception will be held immediatly following the service. Please wear attire celebrating Betsy's life, not mourning her passing.
