Betty Lou Pearce Lemon

March 1, 1941 — January 30, 2015

HYRUM — Betty Lou Pearce Lemon, 73, of Hyrum, Utah returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, January 30, 2015, following a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones.

Betty was born on March 1, 1941, in Logan, Utah, to Ivan and Annie Pearce of Paradise, Utah. She had three sisters and five brothers. Betty’s mother passed away when she was two and Marion and Clara Pearce lovingly brought her into their family where Betty gained an additional three brothers and a sister. Betty graduated from South Cache High School in 1959. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life Boyd Lemon on July 15, 1960 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with five children. Betty’s family was her life. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Betty worked as a secre- tary at Hillfield, a librarian at the Brigham City Indian School and at USU, but her life’s passion was teaching thousands of children to read as a Reading Aide at Lincoln Elementary School for over 25 years.

Betty was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints and she spent countless hours serving in the church. She had an unwavering testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Betty is preceded in death by: two sets of parents; and siblings Don Pearce, Lewis Pearce, Velma Cutler, Bill Pearce, Idonna Kent, Dean Pearce, Douglas Pearce, Monte Pearce, and Robert Pearce. She is survived by her husband Boyd Lemon; her children Allen, Glen, Dennis (Melissa), Brenda (Paul) Brewer, Corey (Lisa); twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and siblings Glen Pearce, Blaine Pearce, and Shirley Carling.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 (noon) Tuesday, February 3, in the Paradise LDS Chapel, 9060 South 200 West in Paradise. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 E. Center Street, Logan and on Tuesday at the church prior the funeral from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery.
