Betty Leu Roberson passed away at Sunshine Terrace on January 18, 2019 at the age of 92.
Betty was born in Huntington, Indiana on December 16, 1926 to Calvin and Freda Brown. She was the sixth of seven children.
Betty graduate from Clear Creek High School and married Alberto Leo Roberson in August 30, 1947. They made their home in Huntington and over the years had four children; William Lee, James Jay, Linda Dee and Deborah Kay. They later divorced in 1964.
In the 1950's Betty met missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and on May 11, 1957 was baptized. She was devoted to her faith and was a true matriarch to her family.
In 1969 Betty was invited to move to Utah. She and her two daughters spent a year there, then Betty and her youngest daughter returned to Indiana. Over the next 20 years Betty traveled between the two states and in 1986 permanently settled in Utah.
Betty worked for Wabash Magnetics, the VA Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and SLC, Utah along with Logan Regional Hospital. She spent many years working with her daughter at Williamsburg Retirement Community. Regardless of where she worked, Betty was a breath of fresh air and could often be heard singing as she walked the halls to make her rounds and visit with the residents. In her final years of employment, she provided live-in care for the elderly.
Betty loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and reminiscing about earlier adventures. She also delighted in creating culinary dishes out of anything she could find in her kitchen cabinets. She believed in eating healthy and had passion for alternative medicine. Betty also spent much of her time doing genealogy work. Through this service, she developed a deep love for family history and temple work.
Betty is survived by her children, Bill (Vicki), Jim (Brett Shuff), Debbie Roberson, who all reside in Indiana; her son-in-law Richard Wilcox of Logan, UT, and her sister Geraldine Thompson, of Huntington, IN. Betty has eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and her daughter, Linda Wilcox.
