Beverly Lois Burke Bray - A longtime resident of North Logan, UT. Beverly Bray, 82, passed away Dec 26, 2018 at Logan Regional Hospital surrounded by family. She was born to Cecil Burke and Lois Weaver in Spokane, WA and spent a great deal of her growing up years at her maternal grandparents’ farm in Lind, WA. When Beverly was 17 she became attracted to Verne Bray and they were married August 23, 1954 and lived in Spokane, WA and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1959 and were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 21, 1962. They moved to Seattle, WA for a time where they both worked for Boeing Airplane Company in different areas. In 1967 they moved back to Spokane until September 1975 when they moved to Logan, Utah. Homemaking was a passion for Beverly and she was an exceptional seamstress and made many clothes for her children and others. She loved gardening and spent countless hours in her gardens of flowers and vegetables with abundance of both.
Beverly’s greatest joys were with her husband, Verne and their five children – Nancy, Cindy, Scott, Daniel and Beverly Gail, 21 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
Verne and Beverly were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed serving in various church callings. Beverly was known for fellowshipping and making others feel welcome. She worked for eleven years for the Logan School District as a secretary to pay for the missions for three of her five children – Cindy, Scott and Daniel.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents – Cecil Burke and Lois Weaver, brothers Milo Burke, Marion Burke, Lyle Burke, Donald Burke, Eugene Mowat, daughter Beverly Gail Bray (Jeff) Kirby, great grandsons Leland Steele and Levi Poulson. She is survived by her husband, Verne Bray and four of her children – Nancy Bray (Brian) Steele, Cindy Bray (Mike) Hopkins, Scott Bray, and Daniel Bray and a sister, Doreen Burke (Michael)Thorne, their 21 grandchildren and 37 great children and one great, great grandchild.
The viewing will be held on Fri, Jan 4, 2018 from 6 pm – 8 pm at Allen Mortuary, 420 E 1800 N, North Logan. Additional viewing will be Sat. Jan 5, 2018, 10:30 am to 11:30 am followed by the Funeral Service at 12 pm at 1105 E 2100 N, North Logan. Interment will be at the North Logan City Cemetery.
