Beverly Kirby Clow, 81, former resident of Mesa Arizona passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Terrace Grove Assisted Living Center in Logan Utah.
Beverly was born on February 6, 1932 in Logan Utah to Earl Thomas and Evelyn Rainbow Kirby of Hyde Park Utah. She was the oldest of 4 children.
Beverly enjoyed growing up in Hyde Park and attended Cache County Schools. She graduated from North Cache High School in 1950. Following high school she was accepted into the Budge Memorial School of Nursing, and later transferred to the Thomas Dee Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated as a registered nurse.
On November 21, 1953 Beverly married Russell E. (Hank) Clow in Hyde Park. Following their marriage they moved to Arizona to make their home. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Over the years they had lived in Tempe, Scottsdale, and Mesa Arizona where many life-long friendships were made. They had been married 53 years when Hank passed away in April 2007.
Beverly had been employed at several hospitals in Arizona during her 40 years of nursing. At the time of her retirement she was working as Director of Nursing in the Outpatient Surgery Recovery Area at the Deseret Samaritan Hospital in Mesa Arizona. Her career as a nurse offered her may opportunities to give service, which was a natural aspect of her personality.
Beverly was a member of the LDS Church and had served in various church callings over the years. After her retirement she and her husband enjoyed traveling to many interesting places throughout the United States, including Hawaii.
After spending 55 years in Arizona, Beverly decided to return to Cache Valley five years ago to be closer to her family. She has lived at Pioneer Valley Lodge in North Logan and was presently living at Terrace Grove Assisted Living Center where she made many new and lasting friendships.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, E. Gordon Kirby; a sister-in-law, Tamra Kirby; a nephew, Justin Kirby and a great nephew, L J Chadaz.
She is survived by a sister, Sharon K. and Delwyn Howell; a brother, Michael T. and Jalean Kirby; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jon and Margaret Clow. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Bev very much.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 12, at 11:00 A.M. in the Hyde Park LDS Chapel, 65 East Center, Hyde Park. Viewings will be held Sunday, August 11, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Allen Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North in North Logan, Utah, and from 9:30 - 10:45 A.M. at the Hyde Park LDS Chapel. Burial will be in the Hyde Park City Cemetery.
