Our beloved husband, daddy and papa, Blaine Loyal Johnson, 75, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2014 suddenly from a heart attack while battling lymphoma.
Blaine was born on May 18, 1937 to Arthur Lawrence Johnson and Clara Wilhelmina Speth Johnson.
Blaine started working at Dave’s Bakery at the age of 12, he began with clean-up and later learned the trade and became a baker. After graduating from Logan High he moved to Salt Lake City and went to work for Jane’s Bakery before enlisting in the US Army. Upon returning home from Germany, he met his sweetheart, Sharon Larsen, while dragging Main Street. They were married on August 3, 1962 in Tremonton, Utah.
Blaine began his career at Mountain Fuel Supply Company (Questar Gas) in the fall of 1961. In his 31 years he worked in many different departments before retiring as a Marketing Rep. Blaine made many life lasting friendships while working at Mountain Fuel.
He loved his job and the people he worked with. He was always willing to go the extra mile for a contractor or customer who needed a special favor.
Blaine loved fishing, hunting, camping and being outdoors. He was an avid bowler and always kept his yard meticulously groomed. He also enjoyed shooting pool at the Hyrum Senior Center where he was well known for his hugs.
Most importantly Blaine was a family man. He was happiest when he was spending time with us. Playing board and card games, badminton in the backyard or cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. He taught us the value of a “job well done” and was always the first one ready to help when he knew someone was in need.
Blaine is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Kae Larsen Johnson of River Heights, daughter Vicki (Todd) Hansen of Logan, grandson Joshua (Kendra) Stead of Logan. Siblings, (Laura) Johnson, Logan; (Judy) Johnson, Salt Lake City; Louella (Blaine) Anderson, Wellsville; (Mack) Bassett, Salt Lake City; Laretta Johnson, Smithfield; Wendell “Ace” (Linda) Johnson, Smithfield; Darrell (Charlene) Johnson, Logan.
