Bonnie Jean Hansen Monroe Johnson, 87, passed away peacefully to our Heavenly Father Monday, April 24, 2017, at IHC Murray Hospital. She was born July 28, 1929 in Lewiston, UT, to Fredrick Neils Hansen and Nettie Hodges Hansen. Mom spent most of her childhood in Newton, UT. She met James Albert Monroe and quickly fell in love. They were married February 1948. They had one daughter, Gloria Jean. James passed away July 14, 1951. Mom later met Ariel B. Johnson. He fell in love with Mom and Gloria instantly. They were married July 31, 1952. Later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple July 5, 1961. To this union was born four more daughters, KayLene, Beth Ann, Lori and Melissa (Missy).
Mom worked at various jobs, to help with the support of her family and made many life long friends. Mom’s favorite job was tending children (including great-grandsons) up until she was 80 plus years old. All the children that she tended still call her Grandma Bonnie. Mom’s greatest joy was spending time with her family! She would always say, YOU TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY BABIES! Mom was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held many church callings and loved every one of them.
Mom had several health challenges, but throughout these she stayed positive with her sassy attitude. Mom was joy and pleasure to everyone she met during these challenges and it was our honor and privilege to care for her!
Mom is survived by her four daughters, Gloria Jean Croshaw (John), Beth Ann Jessop (John), Lori Briggs, Melissa (Missy) Murdock (John). Sixteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving, her sister Merle Scott (Wesley), brother Junius Hansen, and sister-in-law Caryle Hansen.
