Boyd L Hulse

Logan, Utah: Boyd L. Hulse, 73, of Logan, Utah, returned to our Heavenly Father on August 9, 2010 due to complications from Lewy Body Dementia. Boyd was born June 22, 1937 in Logan to Leland Delmore and LaNez Hansen Hulse. Boyd remained in Logan for his entire life. He was sealed to his high school sweetheart, Elaine Sorensen, on September 23, 1955 in the Logan LDS Temple. Boyd and Elaine were blessed with two boys in the first two years of their married life. They were then blessed with one daughter and another son. Dad and mom were happily married for one month shy of 55 years.
Dad was a painter by trade for many years. He worked for Colorite, Akucolor, and eventually owned his own business. Dad was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer in his early years. He enjoyed vacations with family and friends to many different locations over the years. Dad’s favorite vacation spot was the Oregon Coast, which he visited several times. He loved camping in Logan Canyon, and riding motorcycles and four-wheelers. Dad knew all the trails in Logan Canyon and enjoyed spending time up there. We frequently called him “McGuyver” because of his uncanny ability to fix anything. Dad suffered from chronic back pain for over 30 years. Because of this, he was unable to continue doing as much as he would have liked. The family takes great comfort knowing that his pain is now over. Dad was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine of Logan, Utah; Children, David (Julie) of Logan, Michael (Sheila) of Hurricane, Lisa (Flint) of Brigham City and Tracy (Tina) of Smithfield. He is also survived by his four brothers, Ray, Roger, Darrell and Jay as well as thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Adam, and great granddaughter Brooklyn. For the past four years Dad has enjoyed, and been comforted by, the company of his beloved dog “Cookie”.
Our family would like to thank, and are very grateful for, friends, family, and the many doctors who have helped take care of our husband and dad throughout the years.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 14, 2010 in the Logan 3rd Ward Chapel located at 250 North 400 West Logan, Utah. We will remember dad with a viewing on Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, located at 34 East Center Street Logan, Utah and prior to services on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:30 AM.
