Bruno Ingold, 101, of Logan, died on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Maple Springs Asst Living.
Our father, Bruno, or as we called him “Vati” (Swiss for “Daddy”), was a hard working man his entire life. In Switzerland he was called as the Branch President for the LDS church at the age of 23.
He was known for his beautiful wood inlay work and carvings. While still in Switzerland, he carved broaches, bowls and trinkets, which he sold at the street market. He has the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in wood working and furniture design.
He immigrated to Utah with his wife, Klara Schmid, and 4 little girls. He worked at Ace Mill and fixture where he was in high demand for the beautiful church pulpits he made and installed all over the country, mostly in LDS church buildings.
He is survived by his 5 daughters: Beatrix (Warren) Sorensen, Esther (Daniel) Hooton, Eva (Alan) Nelson, Brigitta (Donald) Westenskow, and Monica Ingold, 21 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 8th at 12:00 pm in the Logan City Cemetery. There will be a viewing held on Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan.
