Carol Ann Kendrick Leishman, 80, passed away peacefully in her Wellsville, Utah home surrounded by loved ones on April 14, 2015 after an extended illness.
She was born March 13, 1935 in Logan, Utah to William “Bill” J. and Charlotte E. Beckert Kendrick and was raised in Logan and College Ward. She graduated from South Cache High School in 1953 and was sealed to Arvin J. Leishman in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. temple on August 6, 1953. After living in various cities while Arvin was in the military, they settled in Wellsville where she worked hard on the family farm, as a wonderful mother, and as an active member of the church. She was involved with Lions Club and Daughters of Utah Pioneers and appreciated her heritage.
She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Arvin; sons, Jay K. of Salt Lake City, Scott L. (Carrie) of Wellsville, Mel Ron (Debbie) of Wellsville, Charles D. (Julie) of Mt. Sterling; daughter, Shauna M. Nielsen (Darren) of Logan; brother, Merlin (Sharlene) Kendrick of Logan; sister, Camille (Larry) Dunn of Lewiston; and Indian foster daughter, Karena Petago. She was proud of her 15 grandchildren and future great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughters, Mary Ann (Ken) Bayliff, Carol Lyn, La Rene; a stillborn son; a brother; and her parents and grandparents.
A funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20 at the Wellsville Stake Center, 30 S Center, with a viewing that morning beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Wellsville City Cemetery.
The family is thankful for so many who have cared for her, including Jeremy Jenson, Allison Richman, and others from Sunshine Hospice, and Wellsville 1st Ward. Funeral services by Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E Center, Logan.
