Carol Deon Birch, 66, passed away peacefully on
Thursday, February 16th, in Hyrum. She was born on
March 12, 1939, in Salt Lake County, to proud parents
Eva Flowers and Alexander Adamson. She attended USU
where she met her future husband, Raymond E. Birch.
They were married for 46 years. Upon graduation, Carol
began a career in education, helping disadvantaged
Native Americans at the Intermountain Indian School,
where she taught Home Economics. Afterward, she
embarked on a career in the computer sciences and
worked at Hill Field Air Force Base until her
retirement.
She is survived by her sister Marilyn Clayton, and by
her brother Marvin Adamson. And she is survived by her
husband (Raymond), children (Catherine, Roger, Linda,
Jim and Kelly Alexander) and grandchildren (Ashley,
Ethan, Jasmine, Arianna). She will also be missed very
deeply by many friends and loved ones.
Carol was a life-long, active member in the LDS Church
where she served in many positions. Her greatest
passion and hobby was genealogy and she loved to share
family information with others. She was a dedicated
member of the Holladay Lions Club. And she served as
the original president of the Hyrum Red Hat Club. Her
Red Hat Ladies were very special people in her life.
The viewings will be held Monday, 20 February, between
6 and 8pm and on Tuesday morning at 10:30am until
11:30am, both in the Hyrum 5th Ward (190 West Main
Street). The funeral will be held Tuesday at noon
after the viewing in the same chapel.
