Carrie Evans Andersen, 38, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at her home in Smithfield surrounded by her loved ones. She had courageously fought a 14-year battle against brain cancer.
Carrie was born in Logan, Utah, on May 27, 1975, the youngest daughter of M. Dean and Mary Jane Monson Evans. She attended school at Summit Elementary, North Cache Middle School, and graduated from Sky View High School in 1993. Following graduation, she spent a year working in the Sun Valley, Idaho, area. After Sun Valley she lived in Northern California and Eugene, Oregon. Upon returning to Cache Valley, she made many friends working at JCPenney and later at Cache Valley Eye Associates where she was employed for the last 14 years. She cherished the wonderful relationships she made with the doctors, her coworkers, and the patients.
On Feb. 25, 2006, she married her sweetheart, Justin D. Andersen, in Hyde Park, Utah. They settled in Logan and later moved to Smithfield. Carrie and Justin enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, and loved spending time together. She also loved her dog, Daisy Mae.
She is survived by her husband, Justin, of Smithfield; parents, Dean and Mary of Smithfield; siblings, Lisa Anderson of Smithfield, Amber (Lee) Draper of Hyde Park, Micheal (Cami) Evans of Tremonton, Alan Evans of Boise, Idaho; grandmother, June Monson of Pleasant Grove; 23 nieces and nephews, and a very large extended family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John O. and Gladys Evans, and Jess H. Monson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the LDS chapel at 625 E. 600 South in Smithfield. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, at Allen Mortuary of North Logan, located at 420 E. 1800 North in North Logan, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Relief Society room on Tuesday preceding the funeral services.
