Christine Leishman

April 19, 1973 — October 13, 2012

PARADISE UTAH
Christine Leishman, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, died October 13, 2012, of
complications associated with Muscular Dystrophy. She was born April 19, 1973, to
Roland Leishman and Ruth Norman Leishman. She was the fourth of seven children.
Christine has three brothers: David (Rebecca), Jay (Trisha) and Robert (Heather)
Leishman; and three sisters: Kathryn (Dereck) Ray, Sharon (Ken) Smoot, and Joani
Leishman.
Christine loved life and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She had a smile and a
kind word for everyone who passed her way. Christine was especially fond of her
nieces and nephews and doted on them. She always kept a drawer full of candy for
them to enjoy. Christine loved collecting movies and books. She developed a check-
out system for her movies and freely shared them with family, friends and neighbors.
Christine was confined to an electric wheel chair the last few years of her life and her
nieces and nephews could often be found 'hitching' a ride on the back. Her little niece
Emilee, was often found reclining between Christine's legs while the two watched TV or
read a book.
Christine was educated in the Cache County School System and attended Lincoln
Elementary, Spring Creek Middle School and Mountain Crest High School. She loved
to write stories and draw cartoon characters. One of her favorite pass times was to
create "personalized calendars" as well as a "Leishman Family Directory" for her
brothers and sisters as Christmas gifts. Her siblings claimed that her calendars were
their favorite gift - one that they enjoyed throughout the entire year.
Christine loved to spend time with her sisters and sisters-in law shopping and going to
lunch. Her weekly trip to town to shop for stickers, movies, coloring books and candy
was a cherished tradition. She always remembered family birthdays and chose gifts
especially suited for the occasion.
Christine is survived by her parents and siblings, fourteen nephews, eight nieces, and
her life-long best friend, Nicki Clark.
