Christine Violet Roundy Mitton

Christine Violet Roundy Mitton, 70, of Wellsville, Utah passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in her sleep, at her home in Mt. Sterling, Utah on December 14, 2024. She was born in Sheridan, Montana, March 6, 1954 to Duane and Patsy Brunner Roundy. She loved her parents very much and held them in high esteem. Christine was the oldest of five children and she spent her early school years in Lindon, Utah where she was quite happy.

When she was around 10 years old the family moved to Wellsville, Utah. She was a talented singer and piano player and was soon participating in the local LDS ward functions. In high school she was active in the Front Porch Majority singing club and graduated Sky View in 1972. She also greatly enjoyed singing with the Rainbow singers, and sang at various events with them while the the group was in existence. 

She married Vernon Dennis Mitton on August 23, 1974, in Wellsville Utah at the old Floridale school. They had known each other since childhood and lived only a block apart while growing up. They had just made it 50 years together. They had three children and Christine loved being a mother, and then later a grandmother. During her early years she worked at the cheese factory in Wellsville. Later she worked at Herff Jones in Logan, and various other jobs after that. 

Christine loved spending time outdoors throughout her life. During their early married years they purchased a small spot of forest land near Montpelier, Idaho and built a small cabin. Christine absolutely loved spending time at the cabin, and it became like a second home for the Mitton family. 

Christine was a firm believer in the LDS faith and would hold callings as the ward Organist. When asked about the Church she would reply that she experienced feelings of love and comfort while attending. 

She enjoyed and was grateful for the friendship of the ladies in the local social club, the Wild Women of Wellsville. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Patsy/ Duane Roundy and sister Janae Jones. She is survived by her sister Debbie Roundy, brothers Kevin Roundy and Rennie Roundy. Her husband Dennis Mitton. Her children Ricky Mitton, Kenny Mitton, Lisa Mitton Sanderson and three granddaughters. 

Christine was loved greatly and is very missed. 

Funeral Services will be held December 21, 2024 at 1:00, Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 E Center St, Logan, UT 84321. Interment will follow at the Wellsville Cemetery. There will be a gathering for friends and family from 11:30 to 12:30. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Primary Children’s Hospital or another children's hospital of your choice.
