“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these… is charity. - I Corinthians 13:13
"Charity Never Faileth." I Corinthians 13:8
Christopher Lee von Niederhausern, age 35, passed away on October 28th 2017 at 2pm.
Christopher had a heart of gold. There was literally nothing he wouldn’t do for another human being. Chris had so much charity in his heart, that giving you “the shirt of his back” was something he didn’t think twice about. But Chris gave more than the shirt off his back. He gave every person he met, regardless of anything they had or had not done, charity. He loved everyone, and with all sincerity it can be said that he never harshly judged a single soul. If the reason we are put on earth is to learn to love and be kind to our fellow man, Chris wins the prize.
Chris was born November 18, 1981 in American Fork, Utah to Robert and Geri von Niederhausern. At the time of his passing, his parents were already in Heaven, eagerly awaiting his arrival. Chris was very close to his parents, and greatly missed his Mother who had passed on to the next life just a couple of years before his passing. Chris is survived by five siblings: Heidi, Kiel, Kurt, Boyd, and Holly. Chris has a younger sister, Hillary Lynn who passed away as an infant. Preceding him in death was also his nephew, Eli Robert.
Chris spent his “growing up years” in the country in Fairview, Idaho. Chris loved animals, and was known to take care of several small kittens at a time. He enjoyed spending time with his father, which included such activities as hunting, camping, fishing, hiking, and in general, being in the crisp mountain air and cold Idaho mountains. Chris liked to listen to music and he knew how to “work hard.” Chris would work for hours on end, doing any task he could help you with, and he never cared if he got recognition. He just wanted to “serve.” Chris was kind to his nieces and nephews, and he loved having dinner with them and especially loved going to 3-D movies with them. One of his favorites was “Ant Man” in 3-D. He couldn’t stop talking about it. Another favorite was Star Wars, and he was excited to watch it on Christmas Day. Chris’ very favorite holiday seemed to be The 4th of July. He loved going up into the mountains with family on this holiday, watching fireworks, and seeing the parade.
Chris had a personal affinity for Alaska, and spent some time there working and enjoying the environment. Chris always wanted to go back to Alaska. He liked its free spirit and untouched terrain. It is our hope that now that Chris is free, he can enjoy Alaska once again.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 4th from 10:30-11:30 am at Allen Mortuary in Logan, Utah (34 E Center St, Logan, UT 84321) with a graveside burial to follow at 12:00 pm at the Logan Cemetery (1000 North 1200 East, Logan, Utah.)
The family wishes to express appreciation to Ogden Regional Hospital for the efforts and compassion they showed in trying to help Chris get better. We also wish to thank his friends in Brigham City, Preston, and all others near and far for their friendship and kindness shown to Chris throughout the years. The best way to honor Chris would be to forgive often, overlook another's weaknesses, and to always reach out in kindness and compassion to anyone around you that you believe could use a friend.
